Introduction

The editor has many shortcuts that aid the user. These shortcuts can be found in the ui via context menus, menus off the main menubar, and through the help system. The help system is the best way to learn about shortcuts because it lists all of the editor shortcuts together and doesn't require the user to browse through menus.

In order to help the user find the shortcut help the link in the main Editor Help page will be moved to a more prominent location so that the user does not need to scroll or otherwise scrutinize the page for shortcut help.

System-Wide UI Impact

Only the Editor help set will be modified to improve the discoverability of the shortcut help. This comes in two parts:

  1. Move the keyboard shortcuts link in the main Editor Help page to a more obvious place. The new location should require no or very little scrolling to make the link visible.
  2. Make sure that the index and search list the Editor Shortcut page. Keywords that need to be indexed are 'keyboard shortcuts', 'shortcuts', 'key bindings', 'bindings'.

Also note the iz issue 37143 it is tracking this change and suggestion additional enhancements.
